Prof Dr S. M. Hasan Zaidi Pro Rector of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, spoke about the collaboration between Capital Smart City and GIKI to establish a Center of Excellence in partnership with Alibaba Cloud.
It's a great pleasure to be here at Capital Smart City, Silicon Village, Alhamdulillah. There's a great opportunity and a great facility in Pakistan for the high tech IT companies and other high tech companies as well because they are offering free tax zone for 10 years plus and Mashala great Internet facilities and everything and you seek to dekhte way Gik has actually collaborated with them. To actually establish a center of excellence in AI and data science. And this center of excellence is going to be the first of its kind of world class center in which we are planning to collaborate with many high tech companies such as Alibaba Cloud and we would like to start Alibaba Cloud certifications training in collaboration with Capital Smart over here.
The other important features of this center of excellence would be a bachelors and masters degree program. In AI and data science to begin with. And then we also would like to have a bachelor's program in Fintech. So all these will be essentially required for this ecosystem which is evolving over here in a big way at the capital smart city, Silicon Village. So alhamdulillah, we are looking forward to have a very conducive research and development environment here. And therefore, the third pillar of this center of excellence would be an entrepreneurial hub in which. We will have startups and spin off companies of this center of excellence of between Giki Gik Institute and the Capital Smart.
